Gracelyn’s Fencing Project: 3rd Grade’s Got Talent

Our young fencer, Gracelyn, was asked to participate in her school’s 3rd Grade’s Got Talent showcase. She showed off her fencing skills and some impressive footwork during our First Blades class. Here is the written summary and the video to complement her work.

Gracelyn’s “3rd Grade’s Got Talent” Project: Fencing! 

Last year, Gracelyn participated in her school’s 3rd Grade’s Got Talent showcase, and she chose to create her video all about fencing! 

In preparing for her project, she discovered so many fun facts about the sport—like how fencing is one of only four sports to be featured in every modern Olympic Games, and that the protective uniform is traditionally white because early referees needed to see the marks made by real blades.

Gracelyn had a great time putting her project together, and it was an exciting way to combine creativity with learning something totally new!
